Olswang is set to break through the 100-partner barrier for the first time after unveiling its largest round of partner promotions to date.

The top 20 City firm is promoting 10 of its associates to the partnership with effect from 1 May, in what represents its largest batch of promotions since the firm's foundation in 1981.

The promotions see four new partners in the firm's corporate group, while the litigation and media, communications and technology groups receive three new partners apiece.

Senior partner Mark Devereux commented: "These new partners are wonderful ambassadors for our firm and this is a well-earned achievement for each of them as well as an exciting milestone for Olswang; as of May 2008, the firm will grow to a partnership of more than 100 partners."

Last year the firm made up five new partners. In addition, over the financial year to date the firm recruited 19 new partners, including last month taking Faegre & Benson London head Max Audley and Sidley Austin finance partner Steve Clark at the end of last year.

The news comes after fellow City firms CMS Cameron McKenna, Ince & Co and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer last week announced their own partner promotions.

Ince is making up just three new partners, while Camerons is set to grow its partnership by 11. City giant Freshfields made up a total of 25 new partners, including 10 in the City.
