Hajduk added: "This is a dynamic area to be involved in currently as the Polish economy has to make a significant investment immediately in order to avoid threat of the shortage of energy in the future."

Norton Rose's Warsaw office opened in 2000 and is led by managing partner Piotr Strawa. Hajduk becomes the third partner in the office, alongside Strawa and local banking head Grzegorz Dyczkowski.

The City firm has made a number of hires in its international network in recent months, recently bringing on partner Karl Rogers in Dubai to head up its regional structured products group.
