Clifford Chance (CC) has announced the re-election of its Paris managing partner, Yves Wehrli, for a third successive term.

Wehrli, a corporate specialist who joined the firm in 1980 and became a partner in 1988, will begin his third four-year term at the helm of the firm's French practice on 1 May.

He first became managing partner of the Paris practice in 2000 and was reappointed in 2004 after standing unopposed.

During his time in charge of the Paris branch, CC has made a string of high-profile hires, including those of competition partners Claude Lazarus and Michel Debroux from Herbert Smith and Bredin Prat partners Jean-Pierre Grandjean and Dominique Bompoint.

Meanwhile, the magic circle giant has installed a number of new members to its Paris executive committee, with Francois Bonteil, Eric Davoudet, Christian Lacheze and David Preat all taking seats at the table.

Lacheze and Preat are dispute resolution partners, while Bonteil and Davoudet are members of the real estate and tax teams respectively.

Lacheze joined the firm in 1972 and recently advised on the £2.84bn sale of Eurotunnel debt, while Preat joined in 1999 to establish a public law group and made partner in 2002.

They join Wehrli and Paris general manager Francois Bammert on the executive committee.
