Taylor Wessing is to appoint six new UK partners from a total of 19 promotions firm-wide, the Anglo-German firm announced today (30 April).

The total is up from last year's tally of 17 and sees six new partners made up in the City and nine in Germany.

Five of the new German partners are based in the Munich office, with three practising in Hamburg and one new partner getting the nod in Duesseldorf. Additionally, four new partners are made up at the firm's Paris office.

Corporate and intellectual property are the main beneficiaries by practice area, each picking up five new partners. Real estate gets three promotions and corporate tax, private client, reconstruction, employment, construction and competition see one promotion each.

The latest promotions bring the number of UK partners to 104.

Taylor Wessing UK managing partner Michael Frawley (pictured) commented: "In what has been a difficult financial climate, their respective promotions send a positive message to the market that our practice continues to grow steadily in our key strategic areas of corporate, real estate and intellectual property."

German chief Wolfgang Rehmann added: "Every one of these lawyers has been promoted on their own merits, having demonstrated their ability to grow and develop their respective practice areas and the firm at large."
