Dublin's A&L Goodbody promotes seven
Irish heavyweight A&L Goodbody has made up seven lawyers to its partnership in its latest round of internal promotions. Corporate gained two new partners, with Niamh Coyne and Cian McCourt both made up. Banking lawyer Maireadh Dale also gets the nod, as do project finance and energy specialist Ross Moore, David Main in the pensions practice and investment funds specialist Carol Widger.

Irish heavyweight A&L Goodbody has made up seven lawyers to its partnership in its latest round of internal promotions.
Corporate gained two new partners, with Niamh Coyne and Cian McCourt both made up. Banking lawyer Maireadh Dale also gets the nod, as do project finance and energy specialist Ross Moore, David Main in the pensions practice and investment funds specialist Carol Widger.
Barrister Paula Reid, who heads up the firm's knowledge department, is also among the promotions.
All of the new appointments – which were effective from 1 May and grow the Irish firm's total partnership to 70 – come at A&L Goodbody's Dublin headquarters.
Commenting on the promotions, A&L Goodbody managing partner Paul Carroll said: "We are delighted to elevate these seven dynamic individuals within the firm. They have excelled in their careers to date and bring years of valuable experience from their specialist areas to their new role as partners."
He added: "Growth is essential in order to keep moving forward – even in this more challenging economic environment. The seven appointments reflect our plans to continue to provide the best quality service to the Irish corporate sector through exceptional legal talent."

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
