CC hands new term to Amsterdam top man
Clifford Chance (CC) has re-elected Amsterdam managing partner Jan ter Haar for a second three-year term. Ter Haar joined the magic circle giant in Dubai in 1980. He has also practised at the firm's City hub and in New York - where he was part of the management committee - and was managing partner of the Frankfurt office between 1993 and 1997.

Clifford Chance (CC) has re-elected Amsterdam managing partner Jan ter Haar for a second three-year term.
Ter Haar joined the magic circle giant in Dubai in 1980. He has also practised at the firm's City hub and in New York – where he was part of the management committee – and was managing partner of the Frankfurt office between 1993 and 1997.
His practice focuses on areas including acquisition finance, aircraft finance and leasing, structured finance and restructuring work.
Commenting on the reappointment, he said: "I am very pleased to have the opportunity to manage the Amsterdam office for a second term. Clifford Chance Amsterdam has a leading position in the domestic and international markets, for financial and corporate transactions and has been involved in some of the most complex, cutting edge and high profile transactions which have taken place."
"We are committed to continuing to provide outstanding support, practical advice and innovative solutions to our clients in both their local and cross border deals."
The appointment comes after CC last month re-elected its Paris head, Yves Wehrli, for a third successive term. Corporate specialist Wehrli also joined the firm in 1980 and became a partner in 1988.
He first became took the helm of the firm's Paris practice in 2000 and was reappointed in 2004 after standing unopposed. The French managing partner role at CC carries a four-year term.
