Denton Wilde Sapte has added to its network of offices in the Middle East after taking on the Kuwait office of US law firm Bryan Cave.

The new office, which will operate as the Law Offices of Dr Ahmad Al-Samdan in association with Denton Wilde Sapte, numbers seven fee earners and will be headed by partner David Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer, a corporate and commercial specialist, previously headed the team at Bryan Cave and has practised in the Middle East for more than a decade.

Dentons' new office, which will continue to focus on areas including M&A and real estate, adds to a Middle East network that already features outposts in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Commenting on the move, Dentons Middle East managing partner Neil Cuthbert said: "We have been looking at the Kuwait market for some years and we feel now is the right time to enter this exciting market."

Pfeiffer added: "With the growth of the regional economy, our clients increasingly demand region-wide service that necessitates maintaining multiple offices in the Middle East. Our team of seven fee earners believes that [Dentons] is the best fit for our practice."

The news comes after Dentons last month unveiled a modest 6% rise in global turnover to reach a new mark of £164m, although the firm reported that its international network had contributed a 16% rise in income over the same period.
