Maples and Calder has bolstered its Dublin office with the hire of two partners from Irish leader A&L Goodbody.

Partners Barry McGrath and Nollaig Murphy are set to join the offshore leader's financial services practice in Ireland.

McGrath has been a partner at A&L Goodbody since 2003 and specialises in investment funds. His clients include Deutsche Bank, Citibank, Nomura, Barclays Capital and HSBC.

Murphy's practice focuses on finance and capital markets work, covering structured and leveraged finance. He was previously a partner at Clifford Chance.

The pair boost the firm's Irish financial services practice to four partners.

The offshore firm has now hired three partners from A&L Goodbody since opening in 2006, after last year's recruitment of capital markets partner David Maughan.

The firm has undergone a heavy recruitment process since first establishing a presence in Ireland after merging with financial outfit Binchys. In the last two years it has grown staff numbers in Dublin to 110.
