The Lex Mundi network has expanded to Hong Kong, choosing the province's oldest firm, Deacons, as its new member.

With around 250 fee earners, Deacons is the largest independent firm in Hong Kong. The firm, established in 1851, has a full-service focus including banking and finance, communications and technology, construction and arbitration, corporate finance and capital markets.

Deacons' senior partner Lilian Chiang commented: "We are very pleased that our firm has been admitted as a member of Lex Mundi. Membership in this global organisation will enhance our ability to serve our clients' growing international needs."

Carl Anduri, president of Lex Mundi, said: "The firm's distinguished history and reputation for outstanding client service make it a strong addition to our network of top-tier, independent law firms. As our newest Asia-Pacific member firm, it complements our already exceptional group of member firms in the region. We look forward to the contributions that Deacons will make to our association."

Lex Mundi has more than 160 members in North America, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
