Linklaters has lost another partner from its Stockholm office, with head of litigation Martin Wallin set to join local firm Setterwalls.

Wallin's departure marks the second high-profile departure announced at Linklaters in Stockholm this year, with former office head Joergen Durban due to leave this November. Durban has not yet decided on his next move.

Wallin made partner at Linklaters two years ago and his practice focuses on large and complex arbitral cases. He will leave Linklaters on the 30 September.

Following the departure, Stockholm employment head Anders Nordstroem's management responsibilities will be expanded to include employment and litigation.

Setterwalls ranks just outside the big three firms in Sweden – Vinge, Mannheimer Swartling and Linklaters. It has a growing dispute resolution practice, counting around 20 lawyers.

"Setterwalls has a very fine reputation, particularly in the dispute resolution area. I am also strongly attracted by Setterwalls' strategy of being a full-service firm – and not a niche firm – which means working closely with the operative side of the clients' businesses," Wallin commented.

The departure is set to take the number of partners in Linklaters Stockholm office to 17. Linklaters entered Swedish market in 2001 via a tie-up with local firm Lagerloef & Leman. At the time of the merger, the Swedish firm had around 150 lawyers, including 35 partners.
