OC hires Bevan Brittan Bristol partner duo

Bevan Brittan is to lose two partners from its Bristol office with former head of projects Chris Wade and projects and private finance initiative (PFI) partner Simon Moore moving to Osborne Clarke (OC).The pair will join their new firm at the end of the year (15 December) when they become partners in OC's national projects and construction team. The hires will take the team to nine partners, working across the firm's UK offices in Bristol, London and the Thames Valley.OC head of projects and construction John Redmond said: "We are excited that [Wade and Moore] are to join us as they will make a real impact in terms of growing our practice. The move will generate opportunities for them to grow their existing PFI and projects practice, both domestically and overseas, working with the existing OC team."The news is unrelated to a formal redundancy programme Bevan Brittan concluded earlier this year. The regional firm cut six fee earner jobs, including two salaried partners, in its Birmingham office in July after a redundancy consultation that was launched in May.Bevan Brittan chief executive Andrew Manning said of the departures: "We have no plans to directly replace Chris or Simon and will instead reduce the volume of high risk, highly-contingent PFI work we currently do and replace it with a more solid base of private sector work."
