White & Case has acted on the largest-ever Nordic private equity fundraising, advising buy-out firm Nordic Capital on a €4.3bn (£3.6bn) fund.

The deal saw funds partner Matthew Judd leading a team of partners across offices in London, the US and Sweden, advising on the structuring, establishment and closing of Nordic Capital Fund VII. The team included partners Ulf Johansson (corporate) in Stockholm and Ken Raskin (executive compensation, benefits and employment) in New York.

The firm began working on the deal for Nordic Capital last year, with the fund closing last month having exceeded its initial target by €600m (£498m).

More than 200 investors put money into the fund, which will primarily invest in medium to large-sized companies, focusing on healthcare-related sectors.

White & Case worked alongside offshore firm Mourant du Feu & Jeune for Nordic Capital, with funds partner Jacqueline Richomme leading the team.

A raft of firms including Linklaters, Lovells, Debevoise & Plimpton and Covington & Burling acted for investors.
