Weil Gotshal & Manges City managing partner Mike Francies, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer financial institutions co-head Will Lawes (pictured) and Slaughter and May corporate heavyweight Charles Randell are among a string of high-profile lawyers to land a mention in the 2009 edition of Who's Who.

The trio join the likes of James Bond actor Daniel Craig (pictured) and Pink Floyd's David Gilmour among 1,000 new individuals to merit an entry in the 161st edition of Who's Who, an annual list of notable Britons.

Slaughters' corporate partner Nigel Boardman – who lists his recreational activities as spending time with his six children, watching sport and digging up golf courses – and senior partner Chris Saul (who likes cars, music and cinema) also make this year's list.

Meanwhile, Weil Gotshal's Marco Compangnoni lists Parson Jack Russell terriers, shooting and eating as his preferred pastimes.

Pannone senior partner Joy Kingsley, Freshfields London corporate head Mark Rawlinson and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett finance partner Tony Keal are all also included on the list for the first time.

At the Bar, Constance Briscoe, one of the UK's few black judges and author of controversial memoir 'Ugly' and Paul Mitchard, head of litigation at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, are also listed.

The most recent guide, published later this month, profiles some 33,000 individuals.
