DLA Piper has recruited a new partner for its Paris office with the hire of Marc d'Haultfoeuille from Clifford Chance (CC).

D'Haultfoeuille, who made the switch last week (1 December), focuses on IT, media and telecoms, as well as commercial law. He had been a partner at CC since 2001 when he joined the magic circle firm from Salans. He also had a spell as in-house counsel at IT services company SEMA Group.

He joins DLA Piper's Paris technology, media and commercial (TMC) practice group and will work closely with group head Patrick Boiron.

Boiron said: "DLA Piper's TMC practice has grown to become a strong player in the French and European market, with an excellent reputation for intellectual property and media. Marc will help us reach the next level, bringing key IT outsourcing and telecoms expertise to the team."

The hire comes one month after DLA Piper recruited Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer counsel Lionel Rosenfeld as a real estate partner for its Paris arm.

DLA Piper's Glasgow office recently saw the departure of its last real estate partner, Anne McGregor, who left the office at the end of last week (5 December) following the departure of two partners from the group last month.

Last week also saw DLA miss out on a licence to practise local law in Singapore. CC was one of six firms handed a licence, along with Allen & Overy, Herbert Smith, Norton Rose, Latham & Watkins and White & Case.

In Paris, CC added to its practice in September with the hire of former French government official Laurent Vallee as of counsel to head the firm's contentious tax practice.
