Clifford Chance (CC) has selected six members for its partnership committee and elected Amsterdam managing partner Jan ter Haar onto the firm's management committee.
Ter Haar has been chosen by the firm's European managing partners to sit on the management committee – which looks after the firm's day-to-day operations – as the representative for Western Europe. Ter Haar, who was re-elected for a second term leading the Amsterdam office in May this year, replaces Spanish managing partner Ignacio Ojanguren on the committee.
The committee, which is chaired by managing partner David Childs, comprises two executive partners, global practice area leaders and regional managing partners, as well as Ter Haar, finance director Stephen Purse and the firm's global director of business services.
Meanwhile, CC has overhauled its monitoring body – the partnership council – which is chaired by senior partner Stuart Popham and comprises 11 partners – four from London and Dubai, three each from continental Europe and the Americas and one from Asia.
London based partner Sarah Squires has been elected for London and the Middle East – replacing London structured finance partner Stephen Curtis. Beijing partner Rupert Li has been elected for Asia, replacing Frankfurt restructuring partner Tim Jaffares.
Meanwhile in Frankfurt, Jorn Stobbe is replacing Thomas Gasteyer for continental Europe, with Bernd Meyer-Witting re-elected as another representative for the region.
Wendy Wysong in Washington DC and Larry Medvinsky in New York will represent the Americas.
All positions become effective from 1 January and run for a two year term.
