Osborne Clarke's (OC's) former senior partner, Leslie Perrin, has joined specialist funding broker Calunius Capital.

The high-profile move saw Perrin join Calunius earlier this week (19 January) as chairman of the funding broker, with responsibility for sourcing and vetting new work and monitoring cases.

Perrin (pictured), who has a background as a litigator, was one of the UK's most well-known law firm leaders until he retired in 2006.

He spent nine years as OC's managing partner, before handing over to current head Simon Beswick in 2003 to become senior partner until his retirement. During his time managing the firm, OC's turnover grew from £12m to £61m while offices were opened in Reading, Cologne and Palo Alto, California.

Calunius was set up in 2007 by two former investment bankers, Mark Wells and Mick Smith, to act as a specialist adviser and intermediary in litigation and general disputes. It has been responsible for many of the high-profile litigation cases backed by third-party funds, including working with Addleshaw Goddard when it signed up around 500 individuals to bring a £50m claim against a London law firm and a foreign business national, over advice given on technology investment schemes.
