Greenberg Traurig Maher (GTM) has made its first lateral partner hire since it launched in London earlier this summer, with the appointment of former White & Case partner Tim Jeveons.

Jeveons, who resigned from the White & Case partnership in July, will launch a capital markets practice for GTM in London.

Jeveons, who joined White & Case in 2003 from Linklaters, has worked with banks including Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch and Barclays, although it is unclear at this stage whether he will bring these relationships with him.

His hire will take GTM to four partners, with further hires in the pipeline.

Miami-based Greenberg launched its London office in June after hiring Mayer Brown's then co-chairman Paul Maher. Maher was appointed to chair the GTM London practice and co-lead the firm's M&A practice globally. He joined alongside Mayer Brown corporate partner Fiona Adams and environment partner Cate Sharp, who will serve as GTM's London co-managing partners.

The London office marks the third European office for Greenberg Traurig after Zurich and Amsterdam, with the firm also maintaining alliances in Rome and Milan.

Greenberg Traurig has also made several lateral hires in the US recently, including high-profile restructuring duo Bruce Zirinsky and John Bae who joined from Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft.
