Allen & Overy (A&O) has lost two teams from its Milan office this month, including the firm's entire Italian employment practice.

A&O's Italy head of employment and labour law Piergiovanni Mandruzzato, a senior counsel in the firm's Milan office, has joined Italian boutique LABLAW along with two associates.

In addition, the magic circle firm has also lost a three-lawyer team of real estate lawyers led by senior associate Davide Braghini. The group joined Italian leader Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners earlier this month.

The Gianni move followed that of A&O's Italy litigation head Alberto Nanni and local environmental practice group head Antonella Capria, who joined Gianni in May this year along with a large team of associates.

A&O's Italian practice was heavily affected by the firm's global restructuring earlier this year, with the firm laying off at least 30 lawyers in the country, and the practice has since seen a large number of voluntary departures.

The most recent partner loss for A&O in Italy was that of corporate partner Davide D'Angelo, who joined MBL & Partners earlier this month.

In recent months the firm has also seen the departure of corporate partner Lorenzo Parola, who joined Dewey & LeBoeuf, followed by that of corporate partner Mario Colombatto and banking partner Giovanni Luppi, who left to form a new firm together with Hammonds' Italian alliance firm Rossotto.
