Two former senior partners of Slaughter and May and SJ Berwin have teamed up to help launch a new litigation support company.

Former Slaughters chief Tim Clark and SJ Berwin's David Harrel are both involved in the launch of Proven, which will form a separate branch of strategic advisory company G3, where Clark was named deputy chairman earlier this year.

Clark will help oversee the company, which will launch next month (21 October) with Hugh Petre as chief executive, through his links with G3. Meanwhile, Harrel, who remains a senior consultant to SJ Berwin, will act as a senior adviser to the new company.

Clark said: "There are huge opportunities for Proven to work as a team with law firms and general counsel supporting a range of dispute resolution and regulatory matters including evidence gathering, witness location and asset tracing. The venture will benefit from being run with its own identity with a focus on evidence which is admissible in court."

Clark practised at Slaughters from 1974 until his retirement last year. He was the firm's senior partner between 2001 and 2008. Harrel was SJ Berwin's senior partner until 2005.

G3 was formed in 2004 by five senior executives from Kroll.
