DLA Piper's Australian ally has added a second partner in a week from the UK firm with the hire of public-private partnership (PPP) specialist Alex Guy.

Guy, who is a partner in DLA Piper's London office, is set to relocate to DLA Phillips Fox's Brisbane office, where he will advise on projects across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region while also strengthening co-operation with DLA's Asia practice. He will take up the new role as of 1 January 2010.

Guy's practice focuses on large-scale PPP and other infrastructure projects and his clients include government authorities, civil contractors, operators and funders. His practice has more recently taken on a stronger focus on Australia and New Zealand and he has worked closely with DLA Phillips Fox during the last year.

Guy said: "I have really enjoyed working with the DLA Phillips Fox infrastructure team this past year and I expect the transition will be a smooth one. I am very excited about the move and I am looking forward to working on a number of upcoming projects."

DLA Phillips Fox announced last week that DLA Dubai head Tony Holland will join the firm as its new chief executive. He will relocate to Australia to take on the role on 15 February as a replacement for current CEO Tony Crawford, who is set to step down.
