Greenberg Traurig Maher (GTM) is set to launch a City property practice with the hire of a real estate partner from Eversheds.
Tim Webb joined GTM today (2 November) as City real estate head after 22 years at Eversheds. The firm plans to bring in associates to staff the new practice over the coming weeks.
At Eversheds Webb was the client relationship partner for clients including Henderson Global Investors and Oak Holdings.
GTM London co-managing partner Cate Sharp commented: "Greenberg is well-known in the US for its real estate practice, so finding the right person to build it out in the UK has been an important step for us to make."
Eversheds real estate head Julie Stobart added: "I want to thank Tim for his contribution to Eversheds over the years. As he retires from the partnership, we wish him every success in the future as he establishes new and different ventures elsewhere."
Webb's arrival – the eleventh partner at GTM – comes on the back of a number of hires as the firm strives to build a genuine full-service offering in the City.
Recent hires include Dundas & Wilson corporate partner Ewan Robertson, who joined last month (13 October), while September saw the firm recruit Stephen Gare from Mayer Brown and Stephen Tupp from Watson Farley & Williams for intellectual property and competition launches in the City.
