Eversheds, SJ Berwin and Nabarro have been appointed to property investment and development company SEGRO's legal panel for real estate work.

The three firms will handle legal property work for the company for a three-year term starting today (1 February), with the company planning to share the work evenly between the three firms.

Segro launched a tender process for its roster of legal advisers towards the end of last year following its acquisition of Brixton last July which created one of the largest real estate investment companies in Europe.

Segro general counsel company secretary Elizabeth Blease said: "After a thorough tender process we are very pleased to have selected Eversheds, Nabarro and SJ Berwin to look after the legal work for our property business in the UK. We look forward to working with this top quality legal panel."

Blease became Segro's first ever GC in 2008, when she was hired following the retirement of then company secretary John Probert. She joined from landscape product manufacturer Marshalls.

Last year Segro launched a £500m fully underwritten rights issue as well as buying Brixton. Both of these mandates saw a corporate team from Lovells, headed up by partner Nigel Read, advising.

Linklaters came in for the banks on the rights issue while Clifford Chance advised Brixton on the deal.
