Lovells and Hogan & Hartson have finalised the leadership line-up for the merged firm's five core practice areas.

Hogan Lovells will have two leaders – one in the US and one in Europe – for its corporate, finance and disputes practices, while the remaining two streams – government and regulation and intellectual property (IP) – will have a single chief.

Lovells corporate head Andrew Skipper will lead the corporate transactional stream alongside Washington-based Stuart Stein, who currently leads the financial services and corporate governance teams at Hogan. The real estate and pensions practices will sit within the broader corporate stream.

Lovells finance head David Hudd will lead the global finance practice alongside Hogan Washington partner Ben Hammond. Hogan does not currently have a distinct finance practice.

Meanwhile, disputes – which will include the combined employment group – will be jointly headed by long-time Lovells London practice head Patrick Sherrington (pictured) and Baltimore-based Hogan litigator Stephen Immelt.

Washington partner Jeanne Archibald will lead the government and regulation group, while Duesseldorf-based Lovells partner Andreas von Falck will take charge of the IP practice. Von Falck currently heads Lovells' commercial and real estate team and is a member of the firm's international executive.

Last month the firms unveiled details of their first combined governance body ahead of their merger on 1 May. The 12-member Hogan Lovells board will play a supervisory role, overseeing partner issues and management affairs.
