Linklaters has appointed a new member to the board of its law and business school.

Moira Elms joins the advisory board from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where she has been a partner since 1993 and where she currently holds a position as head of brand, communications and PwC experience.

Elms, who also sits on the accounting giant's global network executive team, has focused particularly on gender issues within PwC in recent years, and also sits on the advisory board to Opportunity Now, an organisation promoting inclusive workplaces for women.

Linklaters' law and business school was set up in September 2008 to provide in-house training to all of its fee earners and staff at every level of their career.

Linklaters' global knowledge and learning partner Michael Voisin, said: "Moira has an outstanding track record of delivering results in people development and knowledge management as well as female leadership in business. Her appointment demonstrates the value we place on the link between developing our people and knowledge and learning at Linklaters."

The board consists of general counsel, professionals from other positions and legal academics. Other members include: Ashish Nanda, professor of practice at Harvard Law School, Jan Dalhuisen, Professor at Kings College School of Law and Dr Christian Rau chief legal officer at Linde.
