Irwin Mitchell has teamed up with the Telegraph Media Group (TMG) to offer the newspaper group's readers 24/7 access to legal advice.
The partnership, which launched last month, sees Irwin Mitchell offering Telegraph readers advice on a range of practice areas including personal injury, family, employment, wills, conveyancing, dispute resolution, legal services for small to medium enterprises as well as Spanish services for the newspaper's ex-pat readership.
Readers will be able to call Irwin Mitchell's Sheffield-based legal helpline seven days a week, with enquiries then passed on to lawyers within the relevant practice areas. The partnership allows customers access to a range of fixed-fee products and discounted services, providing a cost-effective way to access legal services.
Irwin Mitchell head of insurance Joe Simpson, who is spearheading the Telegraph partnership, told Legal Week: "The Telegraph is an important brand and wanted to increase the benefits it was able to offer its readership by providing legal services.
"We were looking to increase these types of arrangements that we had in the market place and so when we were approached by the Telegraph we saw it as a great opportunity."
The firm's helpline already attracts around 110,000 calls each year, with this figure set to increase in the wake of the three-year contract with the Telegraph group.
According to Simpson, Irwin Mitchell is also in talks with other companies to create similar partnerships as the firm strengthens its offering in relation to the Legal Services Act.
