Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has announced its 2010 partner promotions, with 18 lawyers joining the firm's partnership.

Six of the promotions come in the firm's London base with Tim Wilmot (corporate), Tom Snelling (dispute resolution), Charles Magoffin (employment), Catherine Balmond (finance), Andrew Craig (intellectual property) and Jill Gatehouse (tax) all joining the partnership.

The twelve remaining promotions come in Hong Kong, Washington DC, Paris, Milan and the firm's German offices in Frankfurt, Cologne, Munich and Duesseldorf.

Freshfields' corporate and dispute resolution teams receive the lion's share of the promotions, with four new partners each.

Freshfields chief executive Ted Burke said: "We're very happy to announce the election of our new partners. Each is an outstanding lawyer and, as a group, they represent a broad range of practice areas and offices.

Earlier this month Slaughter and May became the first magic circle firm to announce its 2010 partner promotions, adding two lawyers to its partnership, including Hong Kong-based corporate finance partner Lisa Chung.
