Microsoft has signed a new deal with Integreon that will see the legal process outsourcing (LPO) company carry out further legal support services for the software giant.

The new agreement, which confirms Integreon as Microsoft's exclusive provider of offshore managed document review, will see a team of lawyers in India provide contract review and offshore document review for Microsoft.

Integreon will also supply eight full-time contract specialists and lawyers to work for Microsoft in Fargo, North Dakota.

The LPO provider has had a relationship with Microsoft since January 2009, working on e-discovery and document review.

Lucy Bassli, a senior attorney in Microsoft's legal and corporate affairs department commented: "Integreon's focus on quality and continuous improvement has helped us reduce costs and improve our responsiveness to the businesses we support.

"More importantly, it has allowed us to restructure our internal team to focus on other departmental priorities and further develop their careers at Microsoft."

This is the second such deal that Microsoft has entered into so far this year after the tech giant signed an agreement with CPA Global in February.

That deal saw Microsoft offshore legal work to lawyers in India after a successful pilot scheme was rolled out at the end of 2009.

A team of between three and five qualified lawyers at CPA now handle multi-jurisdictional legal support work, including legal research, at a base in Gurgaon, near Delhi.

Integreon has also struck up outsourcing agreements with a number of law firms including Simmons & Simmons, Allen & Overy and Osborne Clarke.
