Corporate partner Cline set to succeed Moyle as new managing partner of Latham's London base

Latham & Watkins corporate partner Nick Cline is set to take over as head of the US firm's City practice, replacing incumbent London managing partner Andrew Moyle.

Cline took the helm this month following the appointment of Moyle to the firmwide executive committee earlier in the year. His practice covers M&A, private equity and investment funds and he counts The Carlyle Group, Qatar Investment Authority and BC Partners as regular clients.

Moyle, an outsourcing partner, has headed up the City arm of the US giant since 2006. He was appointed to the board to replace former London managing partner David Miles, who is now based in the firm's Hong Kong office. Moyle's move means that London now has two representatives on the US firm's seven-member board, with City-based banking partner Bill Voge also holding a seat.

Other changes see Los Angeles-based finance partner Jeff Greenberg replacing Orange County corporate partner Charles Ruck on the committee.

The remainder of the committee comprises firm chair Bob Dell; New York capital markets co-chair Kirk Davenport; Silicon Valley corporate partner Ora Fisher; and firm vice-chair in Washington Mark Newell.

Dell commented: "Our London office continues to grow in stature and Andrew has done a terrific job at the helm. He brings to our executive committee his strong leadership skills and a commitment to our firm values. Nick is an accomplished corporate practitioner and strong team player, who will lead the office with distinction."
