Mishcon de Reya has bolstered its corporate team with the hire of Dean Poster from Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe.

Poster joined the London law firm as a partner this week (12 April) and will work alongside Mishcons' head of corporate Nick Davis, focusing on cross-border M&A and corporate real estate work.

Prior to joining Orrick in 2005, Poster was managing partner of the London office of the now-defunct Coudert Brothers.

Poster (pictured) has worked with Mishcons on a number of deals and shares clients including Mattahorn Capital Management. The pair have also worked together advising the majority shareholders of Earls Court and Olympia (EC&O) conference and exhibition centres, including the 2004 acquisition of a 75% stake in EC&O for £245m and on the remaining 25% stake from Nomura in 2005.

Poster also worked alongside Mishcons on the subsequent sale of a 50% stake in EC&O to Liberty International in 2007.

Poster said: "I have been working with Mishcons for many years and the people, culture and outlook of continued growth are things that were appealing to me."

The move is the latest partner exit from Orrick following the announcement this month of the departures of corporate partner duo Richard Eaton and Struan Penwarden to Bird & Bird.

Davis said: "We are absolutely delighted to welcome someone of Dean's calibre to the corporate team and to the firm as a whole. He has worked with Mishcon lawyers on deals for nearly 10 years, so joining us was a natural progression."
