Ashurst has become the latest firm to unveil its partnership promotions for 2010, with 11 lawyers making the grade.

The majority of the promotions come in the firm's London headquarters, which receives six new partners. Two lawyers join the partnership in Paris, while the remaining three are spread across Hong Kong, Milan and Tokyo.

The total number of promotions is a slight increase on last year when the firm made up 10 new partners, including five in the City.

The promotions, which are effective as of 1 May, are evenly spread across the firm's practice areas, with corporate and projects receiving three new partners each, while finance sees two promotions and litigation, competition and tax are all boosted by one new partner apiece.

Ashurst senior partner Charlie Geffen commented: "This year's new partners are an extremely strong group and they have all proved their leadership credentials in a difficult market. We congratulate them and we are confident that as partners they will make a substantial contribution to Ashurst's future success."

Earlier today (26 April) Linklaters added 14 lawyers to its global partnership including eight in its City headquarters, while a further 21 were promoted to the rank of counsel.
