CMS Cameron McKenna is set to make its first full equity promotions since introducing an intermediate partner rank three years ago.
The firm will make up four 'gateway' partners to the equity, including two in London as of 1 May. These are energy partner Ben Holland and commercial, regulatory and disputes partner Yuban Moodley. Bucharest partner John Fitzpatrick and Moscow-based Leonid Zubarev also both gain equity status.
The news comes as part of the City law firm's annual promotions round which will also see the addition of nine new office partners and seven partners promoted from office to gateway status.
Camerons has a three-tier partner system in which associates are first appointed to the office partner rank and can later join the gateway, where a partner typically spends at least three years.
Six of the new office partners are based in London and one in Bristol, while the firm's Warsaw arm will gain two.
Camerons managing partner Duncan Weston commented: "Our strategic goal is to be 'best in class' and I know these partners will help us achieve this goal through their sector expertise and client service philosophy. All our partners go through rigorous selection processes to make sure we select only the very best individuals to drive forward the firm's growth."
The firm first introduced the gateway role in 2007. It has always had the office partner rank internationally while London also joined the system as of last year.
Before 2009, London partners moved straight into the gateway rank but as of last year all partners are now initially promoted to the office partner level. Office partners have some management responsibility but do not have voting rights or an equity share while gateway partners receive a fixed share of profits and some voting rights.
Last year the firm made up 17 new office partners in total, including nine in London. It also made up five office partners to the gateway rank.
Across Camerons' European CMS network of firms a total of 23 partners were made up in the 2010 round.
