Expansive City start-up Greenberg Traurig Maher (GTM) has turned to White & Case for its latest hire, picking up Emma Menzies as a partner.

Menzies, who was a counsel at White & Case, joined GTM's London office today (25 May). She has a bank-focused finance practice, having worked on leveraged and project finance matters as well as some experience working on restructurings.

Menzies joined the banking and capital markets practice at White & Case as a counsel in 2005 and becomes the 21st partner to join GTM in less than 12 months.

Paul Maher, chairman of GTM, commented: "Emma's broad experience complements our existing corporate and securities, projects and restructuring teams. We are excited to welcome her to the team."

A number of former White & Case lawyers have already joined the firm, which launched in July 2009, with banking and capital markets partners Tim Jeveons, Andrew Caunt and Andrew Croxford all making the move.

Other recent hires include restructuring partners Jason Salman and Lyndon Norley who joined from Kirkland & Ellis.
