Eversheds recruits in London, Spain, Munich, Paris and Rotterdam
Eversheds has bulked up its global partnership with five new additions across the firm's international network of offices.
DLA Piper's Jeremy Irving has joined the firm as a partner and head of the City office's non-contentious insurance team. He was promoted to legal director at DLA in January and specialises in regulatory and compliance issues in the insurance and reinsurance markets.
Maria de Castro has joined Eversheds' Madrid base from telecoms giant Ericsson, becoming head of employment. She previously spent five years in private practice at Spanish firm Garrigues.
Elsewhere, Joos Hellert is set to join Eversheds' Munich corporate practice in July after leaving his role as legal director in the Central European division of fast food company Burger King. He joined the Eversheds client in 2006 from the firm's German arm, Heisse Kursawe Eversheds.
Former Field Fisher Waterhouse partner Remi Kleiman has been recruited to Eversheds' Paris litigation practice, while Paul Goedvolk, formerly of Dutch property firm Veldhuizen Beens Van de Castel Notarissen, has strengthened the firm's renewable energy practice in Rotterdam.
Eversheds head of international Stephen Hopkins (pictured) said: "We constantly look at the market for high-quality people who can reinforce our key strategic practices. These hires will all play an important part in offering our clients a full array of expert services internationally."
The news follows Eversheds' annual promotions round last month, which saw 11 of the 19 new partners made up based in the firm's international offices. Germany received the lion's share with four made up in Munich, while two were promoted in France and Italy and one each in Austria, Belgium and South Africa.
