Olswang has boosted its insolvency team with the hire of Pinsent Masons London restructuring head Seamas Gray.

Gray is set to join the City law firm as a partner after quitting Pinsents, where he was joint head of the restructuring team in London alongside Richard Williams, who will now solely lead the group.

Gray, who last year advised Barclays Bank on the high-profile restructuring of sportswear chain JJB Sports, has also acted for clients MFI, MKOne and Ennstone.

Olswang head of restructuring and insolvency Alicia Videon commented: "Seamas brings with him a wealth of experience in complex restructuring and formal insolvency which, together with his recognised commercial approach, is a perfect fit in our existing team."

She added: "This is an exciting hire for Olswang which brings greater depth to our restructuring practice. We are particularly delighted he is joining us at a time we are seeing increasing volumes of work in bank-led restructuring."

A spokesperson for Pinsents commented: "Seamas has been a valued member of our team for a number of years and we wish him all the best in his new role at Olswang."
