Dorsey & Whitney has boosted its London corporate practice with the hire of Latham & Watkins partner Chris McFadzean.

McFadzean, who made partner at Latham in 2003, is also a former partner at Linklaters, where he worked in Singapore, Hong Kong and London.

He advises issuers, banks and underwriters on equity, debt, convertibles and structured finance transactions, with an emphasis on Asia, the Far East and emerging economies.

Notable deals he has worked on include representing the Turkish Government on the privatisation of TEKEL tobacco and advising the Slovenian Government on the privatisation of Nova Ljubljanska Banka, the country's largest bank.

Barry Glazer, the co-head of Dorsey's London office, said: "McFadzean has a great profile in India, the Far East and emerging markets including Turkey and he is a strong addition to our talented London corporate team.

Mark Taylor, the head of Dorsey's London transactions group, said: "He is a very talented and experienced lawyer who will play a key role in our strategy of building in London an international securities practice to complement our preeminent Indian capital markets practice."

Dorsey's London base, which is led by office co-heads Barry Glazer and Tim Maloney, recently saw the addition of former DLA Piper corporate partner Kate Francis.
