Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has added to its London litigation practice with the hire of CMS Cameron McKenna finance litigator Robert Hickmott.

Hickmott, an equity partner in Camerons' banking and insolvency litigation group, has acted on numerous landmark insolvency-related disputes including Lehman, TXU, Railtrack and Enron. He joins Quinn's litigation-only practice in the City as a partner.

Quinn Emanuel London co-managing partner Richard East (pictured) commented: "We are now in a growth mindset and the hire of Robert continues the firm's strategy of building its UK practice through the hire of young, entrepreneurial City litigators."

Hickmott said: "After 21 great years at CMS, Quinn Emanuel represents a new and exciting challenge for me. Having done my due diligence, I have no doubt that the firm's litigation-only model and willingness to take on the banks will be enormously successful in London."

The hire comes just over a month after Quinn Emanuel announced the hire of litigation partner Alex Gerbi from Olswang.

The US firm also launched its first continental European office in Germany this year with the recruitment of a five-lawyer team from Allen & Overy.
