Taylor Wessing has added to its London insurance and reinsurance practice with the hire of new partner.
The Anglo-German law firm has hired insurance lawyer Susannah Wakefield from Bermuda-based law firm Attride-Stirling & Woloniecki, where she was a counsel.
She joins the insurance and reinsurance team as a partner in the UK top 40 firm's London office.
Wakefield is a member of the New York Bar and is also a Bermuda barrister and attorney, and has been involved in insurance and reinsurance disputes under Bermuda law and New York law as well as English law.
Before joining Attride-Stirling, she spent eight years at legacy US firm LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae after joining from CMS Cameron McKenna, where she trained.
Wakefield commented: "I was looking for somewhere to pull together my international experience and London seemed like the ideal place. I was attracted to Taylor Wessing based on its international platform which is very complementary to my practice and my client base."
Taylor Wessing's insurance and reinsurance group acts out of the firm's London, Paris, Dubai, Duesseldorf, Hamburg and Munich offices and consists of corporate, regulatory and disputes lawyers.
The news marks the third partner addition for Taylor Wessing in London in recent months, after the hires of K&L Gates international finance partner Richard Williamson who joined on 1 July, and Clifford Chance senior associate Emma Danks who will join the firm as a partner in the private equity team on 1 September.
