A band of national firms have been appointed to computer game retailer GAME group's new legal panel.

Pinsent Masons, Hammonds, Bond Pearce and Shoosmiths have all been appointed to the gaming company's legal panel. The competitive tender process, which involved a number of firms, kicked off in March.

GAME is a new client for Pinsents; however, it is understood that both Hammonds and Bond Pearce have advised the company previous on employment and commercial matters respectively.

The panel appointment was announced today (11 August) and will run for an indefinite term. Advice will be provided across a number of practice areas including commercial, employment, intellectual property and trademark law.

GAME, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, is one of Europe's leading specialist PC and video games retailers with over 1,300 stores. It trades under brands including GAME, Gamestation and Gameplay.

The Pinsents team leading the pitch was headed by Manchester-based tax partner Lynette Jacobs while national heavyweight Hammonds fielded a team led by Birmingham-based employment partner Charles Frost.

Jacobs commented: "This is a major win for the firm's retail team. We are in a great position to advise GAME and we look forward to working with them in the future."
