Berrymans Lace Mawer is set to launch a healthcare practice in Cardiff with the hire of RadcliffesLeBrasseur's local office head.

Jane Lang joined Berrymans today (23 August) after leaving her role as head of Radcliffes' Cardiff office, where she has been a partner since 2008.

She has over 20 years' experience advising clients in the healthcare sector and specialises in clinical negligence, mental health, crime and child protection.

Lang will lead the launch of the new Cardiff practice, which will work alongside Berrymans' existing healthcare teams in London and Manchester.

Berrymans Cardiff head Matthew Harrington said: "Expanding into healthcare is an exciting venture for the Cardiff office and we are confident in Jane's ability to raise the office's profile in this area.

"Berrymans has a strong national healthcare team with a wealth of clients and I am in no doubt that our lawyers in this area will offer Jane the right support and assistance to develop our national presence."

Lang said: "Berrymans' healthcare division has built a reputation in the market as a leading provider, and joining its national team is an exciting challenge."

The team represents healthcare professionals before primary care trusts and local health boards, the General Medical Council, General Dental Council, Health Professions Council, General Optical Council, and psychotherapy and counselling regulators.

Earlier this month Berrymans was one of 13 national firms appointed to the first panel for the London Universities Purchasing Consortium, alongside Addleshaw Goddard and Barlow Lyde & Gilbert.
