Linklaters is set to appoint two new group leaders as longstanding heads Michael Voisin and Richard Godden prepare to stand down later this month.

Voisin is stepping down from the role of global head of derivatives and structured products (DSP) to return to full-time fee earning after more than eight years in the role.

Godden (pictured), head of client services at the firm, will also step down from his role this September, with the process of appointing a successor underway. Godden also sits on the firm's executive committee, a role he is hoping to dedicate more time to in the future.

The magic circle law firm has chosen capital markets partner Mark Fletcher to succeed Voisin, who will remain in his role as capital markets partner and global head of knowledge and learning.

Voisin commented: "There was an internal consultation with partners and counsel in the DSP practice, during which a number of strong candidates emerged. Mark was appointed because of his strong management, technical and people skills."

Fletcher has experience on European and Asian debt and equity transactions, having spent several years in Bangkok and Singapore. He will take over Voisin's role upon his return from sabbatical on 6 September.

Meanwhile, corporate partner Roger Barron has been cited as a prime candidate to replace Godden in his role, having worked with important clients such as BT Group and National Grid. Other potential candidates include corporate partner Aedemar Comiskey, who is the client contact for Deloitte.
