Nixon Peabody has promoted four lawyers to its partnership, with one made up in the US firm's London office.

The promotions, which take effect today (1 September), are spread across three practice areas – finance, employment and restructuring.

London finance counsel Roland Diniz, who joins the Nixon partnership in the firm's City base, specialises in advising US domestic and cross-border transactions across Europe and Asia. He represents debt and equity investors, borrowers and lessees on a variety of asset-based and secured finance matters.

In the US, employment lawyer John Higgins joins the Nixon partnership in Albany, New York, while finance lawyer Kenneth Lind, was also made up in New York, focuses on municipal finance and federal tax law.

Meanwhile, restructuring lawyer Daniel Sklar, who has been made up in Manchester, New Hampshire, focuses on insolvency law, corporate debt restructuring and bankruptcy.

Nixon managing partner Richard Langan said: "These lawyers are stellar performers and make significant contributions to both our clients and to the firm. Each of these partners is fully committed to the core values of the firm."

The promotions come after news emerged yesterday (31 August) that fellow US firm Kirkland & Ellis is set to make up nine partners in its London office as of 1 October.
