Ropes & Gray has relocated one of its Boston-based high-yield partners to bolster the firm's fledgling London office.

Jane Rogers, who joined the firm's City arm on Monday (7 September), has switched offices as part of the firm's strategy to build its City-based bank finance and bond team.

Rogers, whose practice focuses on private equity and debt financing, has advised clients including Apax Partners, Berkshire Partners and Gridiron Capital.

London co-managing partner Mike Goetz (pictured) commented: "Given the expected record levels of high-yield volume in Europe and Jane's familiarity with European and US deal structures and market practice, her relocation further enhances our client offering in the bank and bond space, and we expect to add more resources to this area shortly."

Rogers added: "Our London office presents a tremendous opportunity to take advantage of the growth in high- yield markets and M&A activity in Europe."

Rogers is the sixth partner to join the firm's London office, which was launched last year by former White & Case duo Goetz and Maurice Allen. Since its launch, the firm has hired a number of partners, including restructuring partner Tony Horspool from Weil Gotshal & Manges. Most recently, the firm appointed Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer of counsel Matthew Cox to the firm's partnership.

The firm also recently announced it is set to launch a graduate training scheme in the City from 2011.
