Wragge & Co has added to its City office with the hire of Barlow Lyde & Gilbert's London head of international arbitration.

Peter Flint is set to join Wragges next month as the firm's new head of international arbitration and the twelfth partner in its commercial litigation team.

He joined Barlows as a partner in 2008 from Watson Farley & Williams.

Barlows commercial disputes head Julian Randall said: "We understand why Peter has moved on and we wish him well.

"Our international arbitration practice is growing and we will continue to invest in that area. We are seeing a lot of arbitration disputes coming out of less developed economies, often relating to infrastructure and natural resources. We expect that to continue."

Flint specialises in disputes in the offshore oil and gas and energy sectors, financial institutions, international trade and transport and cross-border investment projects.

Wragges senior partner Quentin Poole (pictured) said: "We have got a very strong litigation practice across the firm, but we have been strengthening on the international arbitration front.

"We have been looking for the right person for some time and we will now coalesce a team around Peter and drive the practice forwards."

Flint's move comes after Wragges this month made its first hire in Paris since opening in the city in January. The firm took on Bruno Richard from Orrick Rambaud Martel with a brief to grow the firm's local real estate practice.
