Nabarro has been appointed as the official adviser to Land Securities on its retail parks portfolio after a competitive tender process including all five firms currently on the company's legal panel.

The tender process, which was jointly led by head of retail warehousing Dominic O'Rourke and head of legal services Clive Ashcroft, involved two separate stages in which firms were asked to give a comprehensive analysis of their fee structure followed by a more formal pitch.

The work will include all asset management for the property giant's retail park portfolio. The arrangement is for three years, but Land Securities has maintained the option to review the relationship annually.

Land Securities relationship partner John Cumpson, who was responsible for the tender, commented: "Land Securities is a longstanding client for the firm and the fact that we were appointed for the second time running is very encouraging indeed. There are some interesting projects in the pipeline which we are pleased to be considered for."

Most recently, Nabarro advised Land Securities on the £250m sale of its Park House development on London's Oxford Street to Qatari property company Barwa Real Estate.

Nabarro fielded a team led by real estate partners Nicholas Vergette and Marc Franks, who worked alongside indirect investment partner Chris Luck and tax partner Michael Cant.

Nabarro's property practice also acts for clients including Slough Estates, Hammerson, Quintain Estates, Grosvenor Investments, Paddington Development Corporation, Hermes and Aviva Investors.
