Addleshaw Goddard has confirmed that a team of litigators are set to leave the firm's City practice at the end of this month to launch a new boutique.

Litigation partners Simon Twigden, Pietro Marino and Michael Green will leave Addleshaws on 31 October to set up Enyo Law, with a further eight fee earners also joining them.

Twigden – the national firm's former practice head – and Marino both handed in their notice in April this year, while Green handed in his notice last month.

Prior to his resignation, Twigden had lost out to fellow litigation partner Monica Burch in a contested vote to elect the firm's new chair.

Enyo will focus exclusively on contentious work.

Twigden said: "Our decision to pursue a completely different opportunity reflects our belief that there is space in the legal market for a firm with the requisite experience, resources and – increasingly – freedom to act in major business critical disputes."

Addleshaws litigation head Richard Leedham said: "We respect their decision to pursue another opportunity outside our firm which they feel will be better suited to their professional aspirations and we wish them well.

"We expect there will be opportunities to collaborate together in the future and we will be working together on a handful of existing client assignments."

Leedham is continuing in his role as the firm's insurance and reinsurance practice on a temporary basis while the firm selects a suitable candidate to take over leadership of the group.
