Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has sealed the hire of Jones Day's City head of employment litigation.
The UK top 20 firm has recruited Lisa Mayhew as a partner in its employment team. She started work at the firm today (11 October).
Her practice has a particular focus on the financial services sector and her previous experience has included advisin on High Court cases involving team moves and restrictive covenants, bonuses, executive severance, equal pay and whistleblowing.
BLP employment head Fraser Younson commented: "It is brilliant to be bringing in a lawyer of Lisa's stature to the team. Our clients are large, multinational companies who need the highest-quality legal advice to help them manage complex employment cases.
"Lisa's background means that she is second to none in providing that level of advice, and her strong financial services experience is a perfect match with our existing strength in that sector."
Mayhew added: "BLP's employment team has an excellent platform which matches with my own practice, and I am looking forward to applying my financial services experience to the benefit of BLP's expanding client base."
Earlier this year BLP employment partner Paul Mander quit the firm to take up the post of head of employment at City firm Dawsons Solicitors. Mander's departure left BLP with four partners in its London employment practice.
