White & Case has promoted 35 lawyers to its partnership around the world, including seven in London.

The majority of the City appointments, which take effect on 1 January next year, come in the banking and finance department, where five associates are set to join the firm's partnership.

Tom Bartlett, Kirsti Massie and Euan Pinkerton have been made up in the project finance practice, while Louise Mor and Jeremy Trinder were appointed in asset finance and banking respectively. The other London promotions were Kevin Ng in capital markets and Michael Turrini in construction.

The appointments follow a period of investment in the US firm's London office with a total of four lateral partner hires and six partner promotions throughout the year.

London managing partner Oliver Brettle (pictured) commented: "The significant number of promotions we have made, plus the excellent lawyers who we have already hired this year – and will continue to hire – show our commitment to London, both as a centre of English law and as a major global financial market."

Aside from the seven promotions in London, the firm has made up a further 16 across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. The remaining nine promotions come in the Americas region, with one in Mexico City.

Global chairman Hugh Verrier said: "Our new partners are all outstanding lawyers, with diverse experience and expertise. They represent the future of the firm and the confidence we have in our global business."

The news comes several months after White & Case lost a number of finance partners to fellow Wall Street firm Latham & Watkins.
