Baker Botts adds London duo to partnership in promotions round
Baker Botts has made up two London lawyers to its partnership in the US firm's annual promotions round. A total of thirteen lawyers will join the partnership at the US firm as of 1 January 2011, a slight increase on the previous year when 10 were made up, including one in the London litigation practice.

Baker Botts has made up two London lawyers to its partnership in the US firm's annual promotions round.
A total of thirteen lawyers will join the partnership at the US firm as of 1 January 2011, a slight increase on the previous year when 10 were made up, including one in the London litigation practice.
The new London partners are City litigator Alejandro Escobar and global projects specialist Hamish McArdle. Escobar's practice focuses on public international law and international arbitration, while McArdle handles international energy projects and privatisations.
Elsewhere, the firm's New York office is set to receive four new partners, while three will be made up in Dallas with one apiece in Austin, Houston, Palo Alto and Washington DC.
The litigation department will receive the largest share of promotions with five new partners, while intellectual property receives three. Global projects and corporate will gain two each, with one in tax.
Baker Botts managing partner Walt Smith said: "These new partners are a diverse group of lawyers representing a broad spectrum of practice areas. They will strengthen our team of talent throughout the firm."
