Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has appointed 11 new counsel in a second round of promotions this year.

The appointments to counsel – the most senior role in the firm below partner – will take effect from 1 November and come in addition to the nine counsel made up in May this year.

Broken down by practice, corporate received the most promotions, with six new counsel, followed by intellectual property and IT with two new counsel. Meanwhile dispute resolution, employment and tax gained one new counsel apiece.

Geographically, London and Hong Kong receive the most promotions, with three new counsel each, while Hanoi, Dubai, Vienna, Duesseldorf and Paris each saw one promotion.
