SNR Denton has appointed a new global chief operating officer with the hire of Sally King from Clifford Chance (CC).

At CC, King most recently served as COO for the Americas region. Her newly-created role at SNR Denton will see her implement, direct and manage the support structures and resources needed for the integration of newly-merged firm, which went live at the end of September.

She will split her time between the firm's London, New York and Washington offices, in addition to other SNR Denton locations.

King (pictured) commented: "What attracted me to SNR Denton was the opportunity I would have to integrate and build a world-class global team. With lawyers and professionals in 48 locations in 32 countries, we are committed to providing our clients the same attention to detail and service across the entire firm."

In addition to several years as CC's Americas COO, King has served as COO at US firm Cooley, as well as holding senior leadership roles at General Electric and Verizon.

In a statement, SNR Denton joint chief executives Elliott Portnoy and Howard Morris said: "Sally will lead our operations, including implementing global best practices and building client support functions in all SNR Denton's operations across the entire network."

King's appointment comes just over a month after the launch of SNR Denton, which combined the legacy firms Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal and Denton Wilde Sapte.

Following King's departure, CC has expanded the role of chief financial officer – currently occupied by Ira Frome – to encompass both financial and business aspects.
